Why Ayizan?
AYizan, means "Sacred Land" in Haitian Creole. But she is also the priestess of trade and agriculture in Haitian culture.
When I started sewing in 2015, I worked with the name "BE CHIC". Over time, I found that it no longer suited me.
While talking with my mom, I told her of my desire to have a name that went better with the person I had become. Without thinking she said to me: AYIZAN and I found this perfect name.

Istwa
My name is Scheïna Louis and I am from Fermathe, a small village not far from Pétion-Ville in Haiti.
I always knew I wanted to be a seamstress. Already very small, I made clothes for my barbies, even if it was more like DIY at the time. That said, despite my lack of knowledge in the field of sewing, I still managed to create original outfits for them. It was the beginning of a magnificent adventure.
Following the earthquake in 2010, I left my beloved little island to settle in Switzerland with my mother. After my compulsory schooling, I heard about the sewing school and at that moment, all my childhood memories came flooding back and I knew that I had found my calling. I finished my sewing school in 2014 and a year later I created my brand, "Be Chic" which, following a lot of reflection and work, became AYizan.
With my years of school, work in workshops and my personal activity, it has now been ten beautiful years since my dream as a little girl became my job.
And all this would not have been possible without you my dear customers so from the bottom of my heart, Thank you!!
